Lunchtimes
We have two sittings for lunch:
- Infants (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) have lunch from 12.00pm to 12.30pm in the hall and then go out to play from 12.30pm to 1.00pm.
- Juniors (Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6) have playtime from 12.00pm to 12.30pm and lunch from 12.30pm to 1.00pm.
Our children eat their lunch in the hall. All children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are currently entitled to a universal free school meal (UFSM) each day. These are provided by Chartwells, an outside catering company. The menu for each week is on our website. You have the choice of whether your child has this or they can bring a packed lunch. The link to the menu is below.
You can choose between a hot school meal or a packed lunch each day. We are changing to a new ordering and payment system as of Monday 27th March 2023. All meals, regardless of whether they are Universal Free School Meals for any child in Reception through to Year 2 or junior children who pay for their meals, have to be ordered via Parent Pay. Your child is able to bring in a packed lunch instead of a hot school meal. Please make sure this does not contain any nuts or peanut butter as we are a nut free school. As we are a healthy school, we also ask that they do not bring in fizzy drinks or chocolate bars or sweets – chocolate covered biscuits are fine. If you want your child to have grapes, please cut them in half as they can be a choking hazard. Remember to include a spoon for yoghurts or desserts and a drink in their lunchbox. This can be a carton of juice or a smoothie, etc.
If your child has any allergies, please make sure you make us aware of these on the enrollment form. If you would like them to have a free school meal (UFSM), you will need to arrange this via Parent Pay prior to them having free school meals and agree a Special Diet Menu. Please note, Chartwells will not provide a meal if your child has food allergies without the Special Diet Menu in place.
