Willow Class - Year 1 and Year 2

Maths Flash!!!
Year 2s have been learning about 'Partitioning' in Maths this week. Ask them to tell you all about 'Naughty Nought!' I have found a really helpful video that shows you the sort of things that they have been doing in class (see link below).

Welcome to the
Willow Class Page

Hello, my name is Mrs Rolland and I am very excited to be the teacher for Willow Class! Thank you for dropping in to our Class Page to see what we are getting up to!
We are a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class and we love learning and playing together. Mixed age classes have many benefits, such as older children being able to show their expertise in different areas to their younger classmates; developing their skills as a role model. Younger children will also benefit, having older learners to aspire to. We will sometimes learn as a class and sometimes in our year groups, so that each learner's needs are met as fully as possible.

Keep scrolling down to find more information about our learning and what you can do to support your child, including our Welcome to Willow Class PowerPoint.

PE days for Willow Class are Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
We have woodland learning every other Wednesday (see below for timetable).

Here in Willow Class we are excited to be beginning our new topic for the Autumn Term, called 'On your marks... Get set, go!'. It is part of our whole school skills focus of 'Discover', based on the skills of being a Historian. We will be investigating all things that move, finding out how the children travel to school themselves and all about how transport has changed over time. We can't wait to get going!

If you need to contact me please email messages@loxwoodschool.com.
