Spring Term 2021

Tuesday 5th January

We hope you all had a restful time over the Christmas holidays.

The new school term has not started as we were all hoping but please rest assured we are doing our upmost to still be here and help your child to learn and develop, just the same. This will either be in school, if you are a key worker child or online. This will start tomorrow, Wednesday 6th January. Please click on the learning link below to access learning for this week.

Starting on Monday 11th January there will be a daily video on Tapestry from Mrs Calvert to introduce the learning for the day or teach a lesson.

If you have ANY questions or concerns, please let us know by phoning or emailing the school.

Best wishes Mrs Calvert and Mrs Coupe
Below is an interesting video that demonstrates our 'learning through play' approach.

On Friday 2nd October your child will bring home a questionnaire about the use of technology at home. Please complete this and return in their 'My Learning Diary'. On the class page of the website there is an Internet Safety Story (please share relevant information with your child). There is also a simple Internet Safety Song (which can be adapted for any device). Our rules in Acorns for using the computer screen are:

1. I only go on the computer with a grown up's permission. There will be a grown up supervising.
2. I stay on the program the grown up has put on.
3. I have to ask to use a different program (we introduce this next term when the children have experienced the educational programs we have)
4. If something goes wrong, I tell a grown up I don't try and fix it myself.

On Wednesday 23rd September your child will bring home their 'My Learning Diary' with a BookTrust Book 'The Runaway Pea'. Instructions for using the Learning Diary are glued inside the front cover. Have fun reading and let us know how you get on.
