Cherry Class - Year 1

Cherry Class 2022

 Welcome to Cherry Class!

Your Cherry Class teachers are Mrs Hazelgrove and Mrs Chandler.

We are so glad you are visiting our class page to find out more about our lovely Year 1 class.

On our class page, you will find our termly topic web for Year 1 which outlines all of the fantastic learning and experiences we will be having this term.

 Our PE day is Wednesday.

If you have a query or concern, please talk to me at school drop off. You can also get in touch via the school office by emailing messages@loxwoodschool.com and I will get back to you. We are always happy to answer any questions or support with any home learning.

We look forward to continuing to get to know all our lovely families more over the coming year.

Best wishes, Mrs Hazelgrove and Mrs Chandler

Woodland learning with Mrs Harder:

Every other Wednesday, your child will take part in a Woodland Learning session with the lovely Mrs Harder in our school woodland area.

We ask that your child comes to school dressed in their Woodland Learning Kit on that day and please make sure all other items are named and are in a named bag. It is also useful to have a separate plastic bag for muddy clothes or boots following the sessions.

What to Wear

Your child will need to wear:

-Jacket/waterproof coat

-Fleece/sweatshirt*

-Waterproof trousers/trousers that can get muddy*

-Spare socks

-Wellies or boots (named and kept at school)

-Woolly hat/sunhat (weather dependent)

-Gloves (weather dependent)

-Spare plastic bag for muddy kit

*Shorts and short sleeved shirts are not suitable

Woodland Learning will happen in most weathers, other than high winds and thunderstorms therefore it means the children should be prepared to be outside in all weathers and dressed appropriately. To ensure we make the most of our time outside and are able to deepen our learning, playtime will be included in the Woodland Learning session.
